my recipe for a hamster-safe Cake

Here is my recipe
for a hamster-safe birthday 'cake':

you will need:

  • 1 tbsp Hamster muesli mix (I used Harry hamster food)
  • 2 tsp Sunflower seeds and/or Peanuts (deshelled)
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • apple skin cut into a number (optional)
  • hamster-safe chocolates for decoration ( I had none at the time so i didn't use them)
  • small dish to mix it in
  • cookie cutter
  • small chopping board
1. mix the hamster food, sunflower seeds, peanuts together in the small dish.
2. mix in the honey until it completely covers the ingredients
3. press the mixture into the cookie cutter on a small chopping board
4. Now you can press in some hamster-safe chocolate and/or apple number shape if you wish.
5. place the chopping board with the 'cake' on into a fridge.
6. Chill overnight. (the more hours you leave it, the harder it sets)
7. Next day, remove from fridge when ready to serve to your hamster.
8. cut a small slice and serve to your hamster.

storage instructions: Keep the leftovers chilled.

hope your hamsters enjoy their cake!

Peanut's birthday!

Hi everyone,

Tonight is an important post because it's Peanuts birthday!

Peanut is 2 years old today, so  in hamster years,
she is middle-aged.

Here's Peanut celebrating her birthday:

Peanut, wake up! It's your birthday!

I have made you a hamster-safe cake Peanut!
I shall serve it to you.

Happy birthday to you,
Happy birthday to you,
Happy birthday dear Peanut...
Happy birthday to you!

Happy 2nd birthday Peanut!
You can have a slice of hamster-safe cake now.

Here's Peanut tucking into her hamster-safe cake...

My Gerbils (yes, i know they're not hamsters)
were awake when Peanut was served a slice of her cake
so being party guests (in their gerbillarium) they got a slice
of hamster-cake too.

Your welcome, Peanut.
Hope you are able to celebrate a birthday next year!

Peanut will be back next post,
